13 Mar 2013 - LIMTED EDITIONS LAUNCH

Dear Irondie & Irondrake followers, we're happy to announce the first of the upcoming, new, "Limited" series: the "CARV" dice.

It will be available in our shop at a discounted launch price until the end of April 2013.

The main difference between a "Limited" product (dice or boardgame) and an "Unlimited" one (like the "Unlimited" and "Battle" Irondie dice) is that the game components are hand-cast and hand-finished. Though this increases the production cost per piece, it allows us to produce smaller quantities and thus increase our range of models quickly, for the love of collectors, and without having to run 10,000 copies in one batch. Over the next months, we will release 2-player starter sets for the Irondie game, pre-made Irondie sets, a new abstract boardgame (quick, easy, and fun), a whole new range of dice, and a full, revolutionary miniature line concept with a dedicated boardgame to go along with it.

Hand-casting has some obvious drawbacks: the shape can't be 100% regular, as the molds aren't made of steel (like the "Unlimited" ones are). Sometimes we will be using a jewelry-grade lead-free silver-tin alloy instead of zamak. This material is a bit softer, which means it can't break but it can be dented by hard impacts, like miniatures. It can also raise the price of the final product and, in general, make production a little slower: now, "Limited" doesn't mean we will cease production soon, but simply that the products are supplied in limited quantities each time due to the obvious bottleneck of hand-casting and hand-finishing; think of it as an "artisan"-like production process. Despite this, we will also have many advantages: we are free to experiment with new shapes and styles and, most of all, we can cast shapes that can't usually be cast in a rigid-body steel mold.

There are many new products to come in the near future and many new features on the site to be added, and we are confident that our small but productive team will be successful, thanks in no small part to your support.

Thank you for following us. Enjoy the "CARV"!

11 Feb 2013 - IRONDIE at The Dice Tower
Dear Irondie players and collectors, we're happy to announce we've been awarded a "Seal of Approval" from the great game review magazine "The Dice Tower" (www.thedicetower.com) and most of all we had the review handled by the "guru" himself, mr Tom Vasel, and we thank him for spending time on it. The game itself maybe hasn't totally won his heart, but the dice did, and they earned a place in his prestigious "Dice Top Drawer" where only the best dice are kept! Take a look at the review here!

New dice are coming soon, stay tuned!
